South Dayton, NY - 6 miles from Cherry Creek, located in the center of South Dayton - 1 Queen bed, 1 full bath, large living room and full kitchen - has a large sectional sofa. Sleeps 2 comfortably or more if you don't mind sleeping on the sofa. We can also make accommodations with a blow up mattress by request, if need be. Please call/text me at (804) 405-3886. Parking is limited, so please let me know if you have large vehicles/trailers, but we can fit a bunch of sleds no problem.

Here are some great restaurants located right on the trails maintained by our club and there are many more on the trails throughout the county.

Sinclairville Superette :  Main Street in Sinclairville, grocery store with gas pumps, plus a breakfast/lunch area in the back that serves up some amazing food (on trail 18C).

The Office Restaurant : in Kennedy, Lunch and Dinner daily, with Prime Rib specials on Friday and Saturday or try their great pizza n' wing specials, located on trail C1, at the trailhead, in Kennedy (closed Mondays)

T he Backyard Bar & Grill : in Kimball Stand/Gerry, Dinners nightly - Taco Tuesdays, Friday night Fish Fry, Many Specials - Now featuring lunches Tuesday-Friday 11:30AM - 2:30PM (homemade soups and a daily lunch special) - open 7 days a week during snowmobile season - 3pm to 2am - on trail C1D

The Ellington Rod & Gun Club :  the club welcomes all snowmobilers (Members and Non-members) to stop at the Club and enjoy our good food and beverages. Any Non-members will be considered guests of the Club and are welcome during all regular business hours. The friendly staff offer a nice relaxed atmosphere, warm fireplace and great food and refreshments. Stop by and get to know us, we may meet as strangers but we will part as friends. We encourage all of our guests to become members and will have applications for membership available at the bar. We only ask that all members and guests follow the rules of the club when visiting. Open from 5PM - Midnight on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 5PM to 2AM on Friday and Saturday - Open all day on Sunday - Closed Tuesday. Located just off  trail C1 (the club grooms right to their front door).

Gas Stations are available along the trails all throughout the county. In our territory, gas is available for sleds to pull right up to the pumps in the towns of Kennedy & Sinclairville.

Gas pumps in Kennedy, at the Shurfine grocery, are open until 8pm and in Sinclairville, at the Superette, until 9pm

Warning: Snowmobiles are not allowed on the sidewalks in Sinclairville or Gerry, trails to the gas stations are marked.

Snowmobile Trailheads

Gerry Rodeo Grounds 
Large, plowed parking area with plenty of large trailer parking, main corridor snowmobile trail (C1D) runs right through the parking area. Directions: From the north: NYS Thruway, take I-90 West past Buffalo to Exit 59 (Dunkirk/Fredonia), at stoplight after tollbooth, turn left onto Route 60 South to Gerry, NY. In Gerry, turn right at the stop sign (still Route 60 South), go 1000 yards, the Rodeo Grounds will be on your right (the area is very well marked with several large signs). From the south: NYS Thruway, I-90 East to I-86 East to Jamestown (Exit 12), turn left onto Route 60 North and go 3 miles to Gerry, NY. The Rodeo Grounds will be on your left (the area is very well marked with several large signs). On trail C1D.

Kennedy, NY has a very large, plowed parking lot, located across the street from the Gas Station at the Shur Fine grocery store and The Office restaurant, the lot is located at the light in Kennedy with direct snowmobile access to Trail #1


Ellington Rod & Gun Club has a very large, plowed parking lot with lots of room for trailers. Snowmobilers are welcome. On the trail.

Harris Hill Road - Gerry, NY Located at the intersection of Harris Hill Road and West Hill Road (formerly Gerry-Ellington Road), this is a maintained (plowed) parking area for the Harris Hill State Lands and the snowmobile trail runs right next to the parking lot

New York’s Snowy Secret: Chautauqua County

The Lake Erie snow machine is famous for burying Buffalo in white fluff, but sometimes the national headlines can be deceiving. The serious snow usually hits farther south in Chautauqua County. With up to 1,500 feet of elevation above the second lowest of the Great Lakes, New York’s largest county outside the Adirondack region annually gets more than 200 inches of snow, providing great riding even when the rest of the multi-state area is browned out.
Relatively few outsiders know about this snowy secret, but we are letting you in on it. With its interesting terrain, dependable snow and some of the most snowmobile-friendly locals you’ll find anywhere, the Chautauqua County area is a far-too-overlooked sledding paradise. Located in the southwestern corner of the state, it’s an easy drive for many people who live in areas where big trail systems don’t exist — it’s almost as close to Cleveland, Ohio (2.5 hours) as it is to Rochester, New York (2 hours) — yet a worthwhile drive for anybody in the broader region.

Chautauqua County simply has some of the best riding and winter scenery that we’ve seen in western New York. Better yet, this county welcomes snowmobilers like few places we’ve ever seen anywhere stateside, and the trail system is well mapped, well signed and well groomed with possibly the largest groomer fleet of any county in the Empire State.
So now you know the secret. This is a great place to ride. And it has snow when many other parts of the tri-state area are brown.
